According to the Texas Imported Fire Ant Research and Management Project, ants are social insects and live in colonies that may range in size from hundreds to millions of ants, depending on the species. It killed but within 24 hours they are back. I happen to have all these ingredients as well, so I’ll make this mixture when I get home and give it a shot. You can make your own homemade ant killer without a lot of costly or dangerous ingredients.

They BITE!Crnmeal did nothing…back swarming a day later…even poured more habenero pepper on today & diatomaceous earth…nothing..I bury the holes with everything & a day later they have dug out from under…even tried orange guard..tomorrow the borax cocktail…we have at least 6 nest entrances on our property…hope it worksBeing an expat Tucsonian and living in OZ these days I can tell you that if you want to kill the nest (we have Bull Ants, Green jumping ants that can sting like a fire ant which we are also starting to see) Just pour in about a 1/4 to 1/2 soup can of Petrol {gasoline} and cover with dirt.

No borax and boric acid are not the same, borax is a salt of boric acid, yet both do kill ants. Will any DW detergent work as we can’t get Dawn here?Hi Veronica!
