We enjoyed many meals together including one evening in Mt. At first there was the numbness and disbelief of shock but that has changed to plain old grief and hurt.Growing up on the other side of the world to my cousin made it harder to stay in touch than I'd like, but whenever we did get to spend time together he always had a lot of time for me, my sisters and my cousins. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor to grow up with. Pete was my replacement when I retired from Specialty Products Company after 18 years as Quality Services manager at the end of 2015.

There is no doubt that he became an amazing man, husband and father. We were impressed, but it was only the tip of the iceberg. ...but Pete was so much more. Peter Marshall, MD, joined the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PCCSM) as the inaugural Vice-Chief of Critical Care on June 1, 2019. I am unable to attend his memorial service. He was the complete Dad. May be rest in peace.I did not know Peter personally, but saw him with his daughter at my school. Relationships are defined by the series of shared moments you have with a person. We first knew Pete as “Coach” Marshall – the only parent brave enough to coach a Kindergarten/First Grade Odyssey of the Mind team. For his birthday that year, I gave him a book on engines. He was a great change from the boys I've met in the past :) As someone else has said also quite handsome :) I first met Peter when he and Sara were getting married – at a family function before their wedding and again at the wedding.
One of those rare humans with raw enthusiasm and a brain full of deep, interesting thoughts. Going off-roading or skiing or just grilling in the backyard with Pete was guaranteed to be a good time for all ages, and we have enjoyed every minute that we have spent with him and Sara and the girls. He loved to socialize, and he knew a lot of stuff about chemistry, which is something that I also liked about him, as me and him were able to have some really fun conversations. When my sister first brought him home, he let me braid his hair and fill it with bows, so I knew she picked a winner right then and there.
Rest In Peace. When I was shown his resume prior to his hiring I thought, Wow this guy is super qualified for this job. An awesome passionate skier, who had an athletic grace and beauty that few could match; and a sense of humor that always bubbled through As a resident of the MVF community, I want to express my deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. My wife and Sara started their relationship about 17 years ago as co-workers. You will be missed and Rest In Peace. A strong and gentle man who cared deeply for others, never hesitated to help out, and was admired by family, friends and colleagues. One of the commenters said he was impressed with Pete’s resume before he was hired. And I have a permanent reminder of those barbeques on the side of my right knee (funny and interesting story). He was a joy to be near. That, combined with a remarkable and genuine kindness, made Pete a really special friend. He met up with me again a few times when we were both in college in Colorado. He could tell by my participation in class that I was serious about my education and the class, and assumed I was pretty sharp.
